Former Liverpool midfielder, Dietmar Hamann criticized the Reds controversial striker, Luis Suarez for re-igniting his racism row with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrice-Evra-c29231.
The 25-year old was found guilty for racially assaulting the Red Devils defender in October last year. The consequent punitive measures which followed from the Football Association saw the striker receive an eight match expulsion from all domestic competitions.
Earlier this week, Suarez accused United of using their clout in the Premier League to shape the FA’s verdict against him.
He also claimed that he wanted to shake hands with Evra in the pre-match ceremony before the Reds Premier League game against United at Old Trafford, and only backed down after he felt that the Frenchman was not ready to shake his hand.
Hamann, a veteran of 191 league games for the Merseyside club, lambasted the Uruguayan footballer for reviving the racism row all over again, and mentioned that it was about time that the player came out of his ugly spat with Evra.
While talking to reporters, he said: “He should leave it now, move on and concentrate on football… I've not got a problem if he talks about his feelings and what he went through but he should leave Man United out.”
He also hit out at the striker’s comments that there was a conspiracy hatched against him by United, pointing out that the Red Devils ace http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wayne-Rooney-c36736 also received a punishment once for swearing into the camera.
Suarez was backed by the Reds former manager, Kenny Dalglish during the entire racism episode, and even after he refused to shake hands with Evra.
Hamann lashed out at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 for not dealing with the entire scenario in an appropriate manner, and was hopeful that Brendan Rodgers will be able to put it to bed once and for all.
“That Suarez case was handled pathetically by LFC hope BR [Brendan Rodgers] puts a lid on straight away as it cost the club a lot of points last season.”
