The striker has represented his country 41 times and notched 19 goals. His spell with Bavaria came to an end in 2006 and was offloaded to Bundesliga rivals Hamburg. He quickly established himself as a regular first teamer for the
North German club.
The attacker went on to make 134 league appearances for Hamburg and his goalscoring record was not as prolific as it was in his early years in Germany.
In the 2011/2012 season, he only managed to make 23 appearances for HSV and was tipped to depart at the end of the season.
Recently, reports in the media suggested that Guerrero was likely to move back to South America, with Corinthians leading the chase for the striker’s signature.
Hamburg sporting director, Frank Arnesen, revealed that Hamburg and Corinthians have reached an agreement regarding a transfer for the 28-year old, paving the way for him to agree personal terms.
Playing for Corinthians is every South American’s dream, and the opportunity was too good to refuse for Guerrero. Frank Arnesen also revealed that he did not want to hold Guerrero against his wish, so he had to let him play for
the most glorified club in South http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/America-c38390.
"Both teams have agreed on the transfer. It is a big thing for Paolo to play for such a club and we wish him all the best," the Hamburg sporting director is quoted as saying in an interview.
Hamburg were right to get the striker of their books, because his wages were driving the club’s costs up. Guerrero was not performing like he used to and was not the youngest of players.
Arnesen was right to let him go, because his departure will allow young players to feature for the first team more often.
