And that is why I hate Nadal. He uses these cheap tricks every now and then. He doesn't deserve to play if he is not fit.

  1. Rafa feels like he still has a shot to win. For a second I thought he was going to retire. What an incredible come back!!!

  2. i disagree with that assessment. i mean he played a very difficult, physical match against novak yesterday(perhaps more than what we know of his style) and it probably did tweak something. i've never known rafa to use cheap tactics. he may eat up the clock but that's about it. i think the problem was, roger just did not take advantage and his chances when he had the momentum at 5/2 on his serve. i think it just showcases his lack of confidence. roger of yesteryear would have closed that out much easier. hopefully,he won't let this second set lead slip and he'll close this one out. i really would love to see roger win.

**i simply cannot believe what i have witnessed yet again!! roger let nadal back into the second set. hopefully,he can hold and break.

  3. I don't think Nadal purposely tried to pull something off.  I think he had an injury, but exagerated it and did not need a trainer. Its bull.  The ump should have said no way are you taking a time out here. Umps have done that, made a player wait a game, and so its total bull.

I lost some respect for Nadal, not a lot, but definitely am disappointed in the Djoker move he pulled.   I hope it taught Roger a lesson:  Federer is TOO nice, that's probably why some people hate him.

  4. No, I don't think Nadal feigned it. I'm a hardcore Fed fan but I respect Nadal, not a fan, just respect him. Nadal's not the type to use dirty tricks or play head games. He's an honorable guy. They're both honorable guys at heart. I'm sure he really feels some kind of pain in his leg. I think Fed's just too much of a Mr. Nice Guy that he can't bring himself to be ruthless enough to beat on an injured opponent. Shame, he was playing really well until the timeout and he allowed himself to feel sorry for Nadal and let that get in his head. Then it all went to c**p. I think he subconsciously tanked the first set after being so disgusted with himself for not being able to finish Nadal off because he let his emotions get in the way. Deja vu again, Fed beating Nadal and looking like he has a good shot at winning a big title, then Nadal pulls off a miracle. How many times is Fed gonna let Nadal get away with murder? It's gone past ridiculous. It's just sad that such circumstances had to befall this final...

  5. I'd like to remind you and Petesux B too that I remember the Wimbledon final last year when it was Rafa who had all the momentum in the 4th and was finally pulling ahead.

For the 1st time we saw a flustered, hot and bothered fed who had lost his cool and couldn't do anything right. All Rafa had to do was continue......and the unthinkable happened. RAFA called time out for an injury break.

Not only was Fed a new man when they resumed playing but he really tore into Rafa after that. So I don't think your "too nice a guy to go for an injured opponent" theory (PetersuxB) holds out.

None of you Federer fans complained that time about Rafa calling for a break then!!

Really.Come off it! Players of this calibre don't need to fake anything. Rafa played a gruelling match the day before that took a toll on his body and he needed attention. This time the timing of the break appeared to favour him. At Wimbledon it definitely went against him (I saw it as the turning point where he actually lost the match but he himself has never made that excuse).

  6. I know!! That was horrible!! Roger lost all of his momentum because Rafa took a time out so he could get back on top of the match. Poor Federer, i wonder how that will change their friendship, he sure looked pissed. Rafa doesnt have a hamstring problem, he has been running ALL over the court. Jeesh

  7. Rafa would never do anything like that.

  8. I was watching it live....but I turned it off after Nadal won the first set!  I don't see how anybody can be a fan of his after THAT injury time out!  I just don't understand it!  It's cheating!

  9. He is not injured. He was running all over the place. Federer thought he really had a problem with his hamstring, and felt sorry for him, and let his emotions get the way. He should have won. I think Federer is too nice sometimes. Like remember when Sharapova won Golovin at miami in 2006. She obviously didn't want her opponent to get injured, but put the serve perfect, and it was golovin's own decision to run it, and she got the injury unfortunately. She felt sorry for her after she retired the match, but didn't let her get back because she put a first serve that cause golovin to step with her left feet to hit the forehand, which her injury came to her left ankle. Federer will win Roland Garros. He can't choke again.

  10. it wont matter to roger , let him try

  11. oooh puh-leeeeeze! (that's: "oh,please")

I am a Federer fan in a big way but Gabriela is spot on.

Someone like Rafa Nadal doesn't need to pull cheap tricks; all of you just accept that all the top players use breaks and that it's perfectly legit.

yeah,I remember that Wimbledon final and boy did Rafa's break come at a bad time for him and a good time for Fed,who like the super champ he is made good use of it!

Congratulations to Nadal who pulled off a win in Hamburg because he was stronger mentally yesterday than Fed. But Fed played superbly, so watch out, Rafa, you might be in for a surprise in Paris!!!

  12. the match isnt finished yet, it was only the 1st set.

  13. I highly doubt it was intentional- he did have a pretty rough match yesterday. It was at a bad time for the person in the lead when is it not?

Ok well the first set is over now- now we're in the 2nd and Nadal has come back again. Anyone have any excuses for Roger this time?  :-D
