The Bundesliga giants’ chairman has announced that the outfit has lost a significant amount in the last year, and insisted that strict action needs to be taken along with the sale of few players
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hamburger-SV-c39485 executive board member Carl-Edgar Jarchow has reported a loss of €6.6 million which is more than previous year’s loss. Therefore, he has urged the club officials to concentrate on cutting extra costs at the German
side, as he wants to break even as soon as possible.
The club official claimed that the Bundesliga outfit is doing their best to maintain and control the current budget. He stated that the losses are massive and they need to be stemmed as quickly as possible. He wants his side to
be in a better position financially to ensure the long term safety of the club.
The chairman further added that if they want to survive in the credit crunch, they will have to sell a number of players in the January transfer window. He said it will not be a problem, as the stars that are surplus to requirements
will be moved to other teams in order for them to get more playing time.
Head coach, Thorsten Fink, is aware of the club’s finances and will let go off the fringe players in the next window. Jarchow suggested that instant action needs to be taken and it will benefit them in the near future. The supremo
is focused on achieving this task within the next month.
“We are working hard for the figures for the current financial year to be better, but it also depends on winter sales,” the German politician was quoted as saying in an interview.
“It is very important that we take action,” the former vice chairman of the Statt Partei finally concluded.
The Dinosaur spent over the odds to get their summer target Rafael van der Vaart from English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur. They splashed a huge amount on the former Real Madrid star following their 15th place
finish in the domestic league.
Hamburg are currently 8th in the rankings and look favourites to improve on their last year’s position.
