Hamburg SV defender Heiko Westermann hopeful for a win against Hertha Berlin next week
Hamburg captain http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Heiko-Westermann-c15984 is hopeful of the team’s strong comeback against Hertha Berlin in their second match in the Bundesliga. He admitted that Borussia Dortmund put in a far better performance in the first match and
that they are unstoppable right now.
Hamburg lost their opening Bundesliga fixture against champions Borussia Dortmund 3-1 at the Signal Iduna Park on Friday. The home side dominated the match throughout as Kevin Grosskreutz scored a brace and Mario Gotze also made
it to the score sheet.
Westermann admitted that Dortmund showed some real class and were definitely the better team in the clash. He stated that the hosts dominated the first-half of the match and were brilliant.
The defender added that Hamburg put in a good fight after the interval but they were not good enough. However, the captain insisted that there will be a lot to learn from the match and the team needs to comeback strongly.
“We played against a team that is simply a class at this time stronger than us. BVB has played well, especially in the first half. While we have fought tooth and nail, but that was not there. This game can be a benchmark for our
situation,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former Schalke player insisted that the team’s next opponents Hertha Berlin are not as tough as opponents as Dortmund. He added that Rothosen will try their best to put in a strong performance against the promoted side. The
skipper hopes that the players learn from the mistakes made and achieve success in the near future.
