Hamburg SV manager Thorsten Fink warns his side against complacency
Hamburg SV manager Thorsten Fink has warned his side against complacency despite the weekend win against FC Nuremberg. The boss claimed that the team should not be delighted with the result as it was not an impressive performance
and wants the players to return with more passion and determination for the future games.
Rothosen are currently 11th on the Bundesliga standings table with 17 points from the 15 games played and have already won four times. They recently downed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Paolo-Guerrero-c29087
and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marcell-Jansen-c23544 and secured all three points in the end.
Fink admitted that his side did not play great football but still walked out as winners in the end. He claimed that it was not a good performance from the players and insisted that there is still room for improvement. The manager
has set his sights on winning the remaining three games before Christmas which includes two games in the Bundesliga and one in the German Cup.
“It was certainly not a good game from us. We should not get euphoric. We did not perform well, yet we still won, but we are going to have to put our foot down again in our next games. We want to win our next two league games and
then win in the cup to be in a decent position come the winter break,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Basel-c39079 manager added that the team needs to improve further on their performances as the league will become tougher as the season unfolds. He insisted that the team should learn to dominate the game by keeping possession
and creating a lot of chances.
“We can improve a lot as a team because we still have not played the way I like to play - with possession, dominance and chances,” he concluded.
Hamburg will next face http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FSV-Mainz-05-c38166 at the Coface Arena on Saturday. The visitors will be looking to climb the table with another win whereas the home side will be eager to put an end to Thorsten Fink’s unbeaten run so far.
