Hamburg Sporting Director Frank Arnesen rules out Morten Olsen for managerial post- Bundesliga news
Hamburg SV Sporting Director Frank Arnesen has ruled out a move for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denmark-c2884 national team manager Morten Olsen for the empty post at the club. He stated that the club is surely looking for a manager currently but played down rumours
stating that the former Danish international is being considered for the post.
Hamburg recently sacked http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Oenning after a dreadful start to the season. The club currently sits at the bottoms of the Bundesliga standings table with only four points from the seven games played. The only win came last week
against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robert-Tesche-c31278 scored the winner in the second-half.
Frank Arnesen claimed that the club is in search of a manager who could replace Michael Oenning and are considering names for the post. However, he insisted that Denmark national team manager Morten Olsen’s name is not being considered
after some media reports claimed that he is set to be named the new manager.
The Sporting Director claimed that Hamburg wants a manager who can start on an immediate basis which is not the case with Olsen.
“We are seriously looking to talk to potential new managers of our club. One name I can rule out is the one of Morten Olsen. I need to have a new manager who can start working at our club immediately; this is actually not possible
for Morten Olsen,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
Morten Olsen also denied any such rumours and refused to comment on the situation. He insisted that he is under contract with the Denmark Football Association and has no plans to leave the post for a club.
“I am hearing a lot of rumours and I really do not want to make a comment on anything on this at any time. I am living up to my principles. I am under contract with the Danish Football Association. And that is the way I am behaving,”
the national team coach added.
Morten Olsen has remained the manager of the Danish national team from 2000.
