Hamburg director Frank Arnesen allows http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 Jarolim to leave
- Bundesliga News
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hamburger-SV-c39485 sporting director, Frank Arnesen, has allowed David Jarolim to part ways with the club during the upcoming winter transfer window. The veteran midfielder recently went out of favour at Imtech Arena and has been linked with a move to the 2. Bundesliga
outfit, 1860 Munich.
The player had been a consistent performer for the Red Shorts over the years but has lost his touch in recent times. He has found it difficult to make way into the first team this season and therefore requested a free transfer to the 2. Bundesliga outfit
during January.
The player’s appeal was rejected at first but Arnesen eventually allowed the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Czech-Republic-c2882 international to part ways with Imtech Arena outfit.
When asked about the motive behind Arnesen’s decision, he told that the club had no plans of extending the player’s contract and therefore it is useless to keep him beyond this season.
The sporting director showed gratitude to the veteran midfielder for his untiring services and wished him luck for the remainder of his career. He also reckoned that Jarolim could help his new club to new heights with his influential role in the middle.
The only possible roadblock to this move would be the player's wages. The 2. Bundesliga side are not ready to match his demands; they player would have to take a pay-cut to seal the move.
While talking to Munchner Merkur, the 1860 sporting director Florian Hinterberger enthused:
"The question is whether we can afford it and whether Jarolim is ready to play for a quarter of his usual salary. He would be a perfect match, given the type of player he is. Jarolim is a long-distance runner, who dictates the tone and direction of play."
Jarolim landed at Imtech Arena in 2003 from Nurnberg and since then has made 243 league appearances for the club, netting 14 goals in return. The player, though, hasn't had the same success at international level and has only managed 29 caps until now.
