Hamburg manager Thorsten Fink delighted with Hoffenheim win- Bundesliga news
Hamburg manager Thorsten Fink is elated with his side’s impressive 2-0 win over Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga this past weekend. He stated that the team had the belief and the determination which led to the stunning performance
and is delighted with the way the team is playing. He predicted a top ten finish for Hamburg if his side continues to perform the way it has in the past few weeks.
Thorsten Fink got his first win as Hamburg manager against Hoffenheim on Sunday at the Imtech Arena. The tactician is yet to taste defeat in the Bundesliga as the new manager and has helped Rothosen climb out of the relegation
zone after a dreadful start to the campaign.
Fink claimed that the good results have started coming as the team has started believing in itself and the players are far more confident which shows in their displays. He hailed the side for putting in an impressive showing and
admitted that he had to change the tactics for the match as the opposition likes to play attacking football.
“We believed in ourselves, we fought and were consistently dangerous going forward. It's important for the team to fight; we already know they can play football. As a result we tweaked our tactics slightly because we didn't want
to allow Hoffenheim a way back into the match,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The Hoffenheim manager Holger Stanislawski expressed his disappointment on the defeat and admitted his team did not play at the full potential. He added that the attackers missed a host of chances to score and were poor in defence
as the home side took all the three points in the end.
“We're still lacking in ambition and trying to be too fancy. When you consider how many chances we had, we should've been rewarded,” he added.
Hamburg will next play http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hannover-96-c39492 at the AWD-Arena on Saturday. Rothosen have climbed to 14th place with 13 points from the 13 games played and are finally out of the drop-out zone. They have so far won three and lost
