The Red Shorts have expressed their interest in the Liverpool attacker but the player’s agent denies any talks with the Bundesliga outfit.
Hamburger sporting director, Frank Arnesen, has admitted his interest in Liverpool attacker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Dirk-Kuyt-c11348 and wants to sign him at the end of this season. Kuyt was a regular starter under former Reds manager Rafael Benitez but has
recently slipped down the pecking order at Anfield under current boss Kenny Dalglish.
Arnesen stated that Kuyt is a determined player and will be a valuable addition to the squad in the summer. He mentioned that a player such as Kuyt could prove to be handful for the club who are short on quality players and desperately
need to make new signings prior to the start of next season to get things back on track.
While talking to sports publication, Bild, the Sporting Director further added: "A player like Kuyt, who is still in good shape, can add something to any team. He is a real team-player with an excellent attitude."
On the other hand, Kuyt’s agent, Rob Jansen has confirmed that the Bundesliga side are yet to make an official approach for his client. He refrained from commenting on Kuyt’s desire to leave the club and confirmed that the things
will be finalised once the 2011/12 season expires.
Jansen also clarified that there are a host of European clubs who are interested in the player’s acquisition. He told that a Dutch Eredivisie club, Feyenoord have recorded their interest in his client and Kuyt’s situation will
only be cleared at the end of this campaign.
"There have not been any talks with Arnesen or with someone else from HSV. Would Kuyt be interested in a move to the Bundesliga? I can't say anything about that. A lot of clubs have made enquiries, but there's nothing concrete
for now," the agent concluded.
Kuyt signed for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 and so far has 203 league appearances under his belt, scoring 51 goals in return. He has had a difficult campaign this season having made 26 outings until now most of which has been
as a second-half substitute.
