Frank Arnesen claimed that Hamburg have not pulled out of the race and has hinted that Rothosen could still go for the attacking midfielder before the summer transfer window closes on August 31.

“We could do a last-minute deal for Van der Vaart. Tottenham’s chairman http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-c9879 Levy could get a kick from doing things this way. I’m ruling nothing out,” Arnesen was quoted as saying in an interview.
Van der Vaart has also refused to comment on the situation, thus adding fuel to speculation. The player stated that nothing can be said at this stage and wants to wait to make the right decision.

Van der Vaart’s transfer to Hamburg could be unlikely as Spurs would not want their star player to leave considering Luka Modric’s departure to Real Madrid is inevitable. The Dutchman should be part of Andre Villas Boas’ plans
