Hamburger SV coach, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Oenning, has revealed that striker, Mladen Petric, is not going anywhere during the summer transfer window. The club already has faced massive exodus since the conclusion of 2010/11 season, which saw the Red Shorts finish eighth
on the table. The player also confirmed about his stay at Imtech Arena at least for the next season.
Oenning told that despite being linked with several other European outfits, Petric would not go anywhere. He said that it was the player’s decision to stay at the club and every individual at Imtech Arena welcomed this move. The coach believes that the striker
would be a weapon during the 2011/12 season as he would have the license to play in his favourite position.
Petric mentioned that it is a difficult task adjusting to the 4-2-3-1 formation that was usually deployed by the former manager, Armin Veh. He was pleased to have Oenning as his manager at the club and vowed to perform much better under the new manager.
Despite being unhappy with Veh’s formation, the 30-year-old still managed to score 11 goals in the Bundesliga last season. The player also had three assists to go along with his goals.
The manager further added, “Mladen Petric is staying with us. Under absolutely no circumstances will he leave. He will continue to play for us during the coming season. A lot of players have left, [but] Petric is very much in our plans.”
Hamburger lost the services of a few of their players during this summer including the likes of winger http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joris-Mathijsen-c19242.
Petric showed concern at the departure of these players but reckoned that the Red Shorts are strong enough to overcome any situation.
The Croatian international joined Hamburger SV from Borussia Dortmund in 2008 and has managed 69 Bundesliga appearances to date, bagging 31 goals in the process. The striker has 44 international caps for the Croatian national side to go along with 12 goals.
