Hamilton Brown was Surrey’s youngest ever captain for over 100 years after director of cricket, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sussex-c852 in 2010. While that decision raised a few eye-brows, the youngster slowly earned the respect of his teammates and fans as results began to follow.

Despite deciding to step down, leaving http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gareth-Batty-c1456, the veteran all-rounder, to continue as stand-in-captain for the remainder of the season, Hamilton-Brown said he was honoured to lead the side.
"I am honoured to have captained Surrey, the county I have played for since I was nine years old," Hamilton-Brown said. "It has been a privilege to have been in charge of a fantastic group of players and what we achieved together is a great source of pride to me, particularly our unprecedented record of only one defeat in 20 Clydesdale Bank matches."
