Hamilton Police arrests woman after Waikato Snooker and Eight Ball Club robbery
The investigations running on the robbery of Waikato Snooker and Eight Ball Club have now gone a step ahead as the Hamilton Police have arrested the women involved in the robbery. The robbery took place on March 6, 2011 at 9pm approximately.
The arrested woman was caught on a closed circuit security camera of the club as she entered the club first and then let her armed accomplices sneak in behind her.
After the immediate investigation, the women was described as Moriori with fair complexion and was plump faced, aged above twenty with sunglasses, had dark long hair tied in a bun, wearing a dark parka coat and black trousers with red coloured stripes on
it.
Karl Thornton, Detective Senior Sergeant of Hamilton Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), told the local media, "(The woman is) alleged to have distracted bar staff, enabling her armed accomplices to gain entry through security doors into the bar area"
He added, "We hope news of her arrest will bring comfort to the victims of the robbery, particularly the two female bar staff on duty at the time who were subjected to a very intimidating ordeal.''
The 22-year-old woman was arrested from Auckland on Wednesday, June 15 at about 8 am approximately. Thornton said that the Hamilton Police is still looking for the men who were with the women as her accomplices.
After the initial investigation, Thornton also described the two masked men who came following her into the club. One of them, as Thornton sketched, carried a bag with black and blue colour with a red monogram. He had put on a dark sweatshirt with hood and
dark pants, coloured striped white shoes and white gloves.
The third robber was shorter in height and possessed a solid stature. He was wearing light coloured shoes and socks, blue coloured trousers, black jacket over a white hood. He was also wearing a grey coloured bandanna, a dark baseball cap and white gloves.
The police spoke to the 18 eyewitnesses, who were present in the club at the time when the robbers came, about the outlook of the criminals. The police are hopeful that the arrest of the women will surely help them in further investigation and arrest of
her accomplices.
