Hamilton makes yet another stupid mistake. How exactly is he being compared with the greats?

Nurburgring last year was a terrible drive and he made some ridiculous mistakes.

China - drives off onto the pit road and gets stuck in the gravel

Brazil - makes an unnecessary move on Alonso and loses a load of places. Then compounds that by switching his car into nuetral.

Bahrain - drives into the back of Alonsos car

Canada - crashes into the safety car

Thats a ridiculous amount of major mistakes in just 24 races. Look at Kubica how many major mistakes has he made in the same time? None.

Kubica is a far suprior driver. Why isnt he being praised to high heavan like Hamilton?

He was compared favorably with the greats the moment he set foot in F1!  Keep in mind the ridiculous errors he's made at important times were all in a fast car.  I can understand errors when you are pushing a slow car above the limit.

This has not changed his die-hard fans' views, that he may be the "Greatest Ever", "Senna-esque" or "Better than Prost"

Kubica is also said to be a great test driver and development driver.  He hasn't made these drastic errors during races.  He had a mechanical failure in Australia or else his championship lead would be bigger.

Kubi isn't praised to the moon because: 1) he is not British, 2) he is not that good-looking, 3) he is not as articulate as Hamilton, 4) he is not ground-breaking (not the first minority driver in F1).  

Translation: Kubica is less marketable, but I think he is a better driver.

Everyone knows that even Narain Karthikeyan is a better driver than Lewis Hamilton. But the fact that Kuba, etc ain't Brits & actually beat Brits at racing goes against them. If I were you, I'd care a fig about the British press. Remember, they are the same bunch of losers that killed Princess Diana ! :-(

Finally! Someone who agrees with me about Hamilton. It sucks how so many people can still love him though he's made so many mistakes in only two years. I bet Adrian Sutil or Sebastien Vettel could beat him if they raced for Ferrari or BMW Sauber.

I think it's the British media and his fans that are putting him up there with the greats. It's way too early for that. They are mainly overexcited I think because he is their next hope of winning the World Championship. Dc and Button kinda failed to live up to expectations.

Kubica isn't given as much credit as Hamilton but he can definitely keep a cool head when people are losing theirs. And Kubica wasn't very spectacular in his rookie year. But he grew slowly and I think that's better. He would know how to deal with things better instead of suddenly shooting to fame. We've seen what that has done to young celebrities.

Hamilton is as good as Senna and one day will be better. HAHAAAAAAA the most idiotic thing I ever heard. Kubica is impressing me more and more every time he races. he is most definitely championship caliber driver

It is this incessant media coverage and people posting questions on here like 'Senna is not a patch on Hamilton', Sir Stirling Moss's line 'Hamilton is the best British Driver in history' and ITV bestowing god like status on a driver who hasn't even completed 2 full seasons. Maybe he thinks its all bull too!

Yes he is a good driver, Yes he made a stupid mistake today but no-one is perfect, i'm pretty sure Lewis knows that as well as the next man.

Ease up on the kid, he's not responsible for every butt l*****g article that comes out about him.

It was a clumsy, championship ( possible) damaging error. Mind you his GP2 rival, Nelson Piquet Jr isn't doing any better.......... I think Kubica would blow Hamilton aside if he was in the Mc Merc. Saying that I hope Kubica stays at BMW and makes them a championship winning outfit.

Can hardly wait until French GP where episode 8 of the F1 2008 show continues......
