  1. Q1 - think about what you class as good customer service - polite, friendly staff, smile on your face and helpful.

Q2 - without customers there would be no store!  Because Hamleys are famed for good customer service and that's a reputation that should be kept up. Good service means a customer will return and will tell their friends.

Q3 - helping the customers, working with your colleagues, putting out stock, serving on tills, displays, directing customers, working in the back with the stock. Try to put Hamleys in there - most companies like that you include their name in the question.

Q4 - keep it positive and relate it to something you would be doing at Hamleys. Turn the negative thing into a positive if you can. I.e. you didn't like making phone calls but you always did them first thing so that you got them done and made a list of what you needed to say so you did them well.

    Good luck with it.

  2. My grandad used to be managing director of Hamleys before he retired. he really enjoyed it

    for q3

    helping customers with queries.

    have product knowledge

making sure stock is correctly promoted

    giving customer satisfaction

  3. for number 4.............dont slag off your last job just say something about i didnt dislkie anything but felt i didnt have the oportunity to  put all my skills etc to use i need a more challenging job...........

    just blag it

  4. 1) acknowledge the customer as soon as they enter. Make eye contact and introduce yourself by name. Make sure your customer has received a satisfying experience to make them return. Make sure that 'nothing' is too much trouble for you to do for them. With credit or cheque payment ensure you note the name and as they are leaving say with a smile 'Goodbye Mr Harrogate' or whatever their name is.

    2) Customers are the priority as you want to generate return sales for Hamley's. This is only achieved through making sure the customer has received the best  possible service from you.

    3) Stock refill. Stock Check. Customer service. Till operation. Keeping an eye on possible shoplifting and notifying the relevant person. Greeting each customer. Demonstrating the toys when required. Clearing and cleaning of working area for safety sake and for customer perception of a clean and tidy and efficient store. Answering telephone enquiries. Filling orders and taking payments. Wraping goods. Escorting customers to cars with larger or more difficult purchases.

    4) The fact that I was unable to feel part of a team. The fact that I was unable to show my full potential (careful they may ask you why??!!) (this could be because you were undervalued or you were passed over when there was a promotion or the company was closing down so you were left to your own devices too much)

  5. 1) list 5things which you think constitutes excellent customer service

    1. Helpful

    2. Friendly

    3. Approachable

    4. Going the extra mile

    5. Understanding the needs of each individual customer

    2) customers should be my priority because....

Without them Hamleys would go bust and I wouldn't have a job and therefore wouldn't be earning. The mere implications of this are horrorfying; I could lose my house, my assets and even my sanity.

    3) think about working at hamleys, and list below all thethings you think you would be required to do as part of the job

    1. Stock shelves

    2. Stock take

    3. Cashing up

    4. Sorting customer queries

    5. Showing customers where certain products are shelved

    6. Trying to suggest certain products to people in the hope that they buy

    7. Doing demonstrations of products to potential customers

4)what do you most like/least like about your previous position? (What was you previous position? Surely only you can answer this?)

If this is your first job, just write: "N/A - this will be my first job."

Otherwise, do not ***** about your last job, it will look very unprofessional and no employer looks for this...
