Hammad Azam vows to make it big in international cricket – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755’s young all-rounder, Hammad Azam, is happy for the fact that the selectors and the team management have shown immense faith in his abilities in recent times and vows to cement his place in the national team through some consistent performances at
the highest stage of the game.
The all-rounder from Attock came through the ranks of junior cricket in the country and represented Pakistan Under-19s in the previous junior World Cup. Hammad made a name for himself in the mega event in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/New-Zealand-c754 in 2009 because of his ability to finish
matches with the bat.
The 21-year-old cricketer made his debut for Pakistan during the tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 earlier this year and since then he has been given a
consistent run with the senior team.
Some of the cricket analysts are of the opinion that Hammad is not being used properly as he is slotted way too deep in the batting-order and hardly gets to roll his arm with the ball either.
While speaking to Pakpassion, Hammad expressed that the team management has shown confidence on him and he wants to payback that trust by winning some matches for the country in future.
"It was great to be given a run of matches at the Asia Cup and the backing from the captain and coaches and my team mates was very encouraging. I was given a proper chance to show what I can do and that really boosted my morale and confidence," said Hammad.
The all-rounder believes that it is never easy to make a comeback in international cricket because of all the pressure involved in it and this is the reason why he thinks that the selectors must give consistent chances to the budding cricketers.
He added, "I am hopeful that going forward I can repay the faith shown in me by the captain and coaching staff. It's not easy to be in and out of the side, but as a youngster and as an inexperienced cricketer sometimes that happens.”
