Question:

Hammered for telling the truth?

It's expected that Ozzie Guillen will receive a fine and suspension for admitting what everyone already knew: He's ordered pitchers to throw at and hit batters.

This is accepted as part of the game yet MLB apparently does not want managers or players telling the truth. I'm not a Guillen fan by any stretch of the imagination, but isn't MLB wrong if it hammers him for telling the truth?

  1. i think you should be able to say what you want....freedom of speech !!!!

  2. Wouldn't bother me any. I can't stand Ozzie Guillen, because he whines all the time. How can the White Sox still have this guy as their manager? They need to get rid of him because of his outbursts. I'm surprised they've put up with his **** for as long as they have.

  3. It is a hypocritical stance from the powers-that-be in baseball. They are the ones who twiddled their thumbs over the PEDs issue so that it will simply never be resolved satisfactorily and yet they pounce on the very first honest guy they find. Stealing signs is part of the game. Yes, and pitchers fussing with the ball is part of the game. So is the purpose pitch. And, yes, so is the message pitch. I hate the multi-billionaire owners and their fascist attitude toward the game. Let them play ball and you fat behind rich guys keep YOUR pie holes closed.

  4. i don't think speach should be censored.  we have the right to say as we wish.

  5. I think it deals with the fact that a player could get hurt. And, ya know, Ozzie admitted to potentially injuring players on purpose.

It's just not something you talk about. Everyone knows it happens, but so long as no one mentions it, MLB can pretend it doesn't exist.

  6. its kinda like a no tolerance policy.  Its just so that they can say that it isnt going unpunished.  As if a stupid fine is going to change anything, its just so the public thinks their doing something about it.
