here is my air rifle....is it capable of making quick kills to small birds, rabbits, squirrels, ect. what about a full grown rattlesnake if i shoot it in the head? i dont want to make them suffer for days or have to live with a broken leg....however on the contrary how do you think a pit bull on the attack would respond to a pellet shot to the neck or head? would he let go of whatever hes biting? come at me instead? run away?possibly die? also can this rifle really produce 1000 feet per second or not?

  1. Aren`t you the guy whos puppy got attacked? How is it??

I already told you a pellet gun will not work. Seriousely. Do you think a tiny pellet is going to stop a Adrenaline pumped- Fighting machinee??? No it is not. You need to buy a 9mm or a Shotgun. A tazer would work without killing it. (But i dont know the killing power of  a tazer vs, dog.)

Anyways a pellet gun is perfect for snakes, rabbit, birds, etc. But not a pit-bull.

    Edit:

I have a Pit-Bull. He is very nice and well trained. Trust me, when their focused on something, its hard to <deture><spelling?> them. When their jaws lock, its locked.

Also, a metal bat would be good but i would hit hard and DONT hit their head. Hit the lower part of their stomach if possible.

  2. >>Can this rifle really produce 1000fps or not<<

Yes, if you use very light weight pellets. Probably over 1000fps with pellets such as Crosman Silver Eagles(4.8gr) or Gamo PBA Raptors(5.4gr)

"Generally" speaking, air rifles that "claim" 1000fps get around 900fps with average weight pellets(7.8gr - 8.6gr)

    >>Small game hunting<< "IF" you can make the shot(head) you should be able to make clean, humane kills on small game(rabbit, squirrel, etc) out to around 50 yards

Example - Jim Chapman hunting with his favorite small game air rifle, the Beeman C1 .177(850fps)

He takes a jackrabbit at 44 yards, with one shot to the head.

    >>Pit bull<< Not a good idea!!!! - I would hit the Pit Bull over the head as hard as I could with the rifle, shooting him with a pellet would probably have little immediate effect.
