West Ham United manager, Sam Allardyce feels that Andy Carroll’s admission in his team would have served as a huge boost for them, after the English International turned down a proposed loan move to Upton Park.
Both http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and West Ham had reportedly reached to an agreement over the striker’s 2 million pounds loan deal, followed by an additional payment of 16 million at the end of the season for his permanent signature.
However, the Reds 35 million pounds forward, who remains to this date the most expensive English player ever, spurned the Hammers offer, as he only plans on plying his trade with a team competing in Europe.
Talking on the subject of the player’s proposed move to Upton Park, the Englishman admitted that he was thoroughly disappointed over the failure of the move to transpire. He insisted that Carroll’s arrival at West Ham would have provided a huge lift for
his team, as they look to make an impression upon their return to the Premier League.
The manager is reported to have said, “I would have probably stuck my neck out and said we would almost certainly stay up with him on board.”
“We wouldn't have thought we would have had any chance of signing a player of Andy Carroll's capabilities but it became clear a couple of weeks ago there was a possibility of a loan.”
Carroll’s future at Anfield has been hanging in the balance ever since the arrival of the new manager, Brendan Rodgers. The Northern Irishman’s playing style is known to be in variance with that of the 23-year old.
The player was earlier heavily linked to rumours suggesting his fairytale return to Newcastle United this summer, with some reports even claiming the likes of Fulham and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 to have stepped in the transfer market to seek his signature.
However, a source, known to be monitoring the striker’s situation, has revealed that Carroll won’t head out of Anfield this summer, and he is a part of Rodgers’ future plans for the Merseyside outfit.
The source said, “Andy is staying at Liverpool for sure.”
Carroll has so far capped 56 appearances for Liverpool, and scored 11 goals.
