  1. Your hamster might come out of its bed when your not around but its okay your hamster could just be one of the lazy ones out of his brothers and sisters or exhausted from the journey and a little scared so hes probably just trying it out

  2. i think u should take him to the vet

  3. rustle the bedding around him to wake him up and take him to the vet.

  4. Each hamster has a different personality. Some hamsters are active for few hours during the day time and some hamsters are active only in the night or early hours of the morning.

Some hamsters are too shy to come out of their cages when there is activity in the house. They only come out their nests when the house is dark and quiet. Hence many people think that their hamsters are only sleeping all the time, when actually the hamsters are active when the people are sleeping!

Also if your hamster is new to your house, he would definitely be inactive for the first few days until he gets used to his new surroundings.

The best way to find this out is to switch off all the lights and keep the home quiet. Wait near the cage for half an hour after the lights are out and you can definitely see your hamster coming out to play and eat.

If you think that he is still lethargic and if there are other signs of sickness like not eating properly, not drinking enough water, not peeing and pooping properly, fur does not look healthy etc., then it is better to take him to a vet for opinion.

If everything looks fine, then don't worry, He is just going through an adjustment phase. If you want to make him active, put him in his hamster ball for 20 minutes every evening or play with him in a hamster proof area of your house so that he gets the necesscary exercise and will also start feeling more active.

  5. Hamsters will usually sleep all day and run on the wheel all night.  A new hamster might be getting used to new surroundings.  If it does not show interest in the wheel or in food, it could be ill.  When they get older, they may also sleep more. Try asking the place where you got it about age, history etc.  Good luck

  6. HAMSTERS ARE NOCTURNAL!

That meens they sleep the enitre day, and come out at night.

  7. Hamsters sleep a lot. They only need 2 hours of exercise a day, so don't worry. If he is not eating or drinking, or seems lethargic when your holding him / put him in a ball- make an appointment with your vet.

  8. hamsters sleep alllll day long...

    they come alive around 10:00

  9. Go in there and tap the cage at about 6:30 and pet him some and carry him around the house. Then put him in his ball. Let him run around for about 15 minutes. Then when you put him in his cage when you put him in there put him in the wheel. I would do that for about a week. If that does not work I would take him back to the Pet Store he might be ill. My hamster did the same thing when I first got her and I did this and it helped. She is fine now. They have to get tamed and trained and get used to their territory.

  10. well if you play with him during alot that might y or because the fact there nocturnal(sleep at day awake at night?)

  11. iv had 4 hamsters and you do notice how long they seem to sleep for!

hamsters are nocturnal (they sleep during the day and come out at night) and i found with mine , they all got up at different times. Some would be running around at 8pm whilst others would get up way after i was in bed and then go back to bed in the early hours of the morning - so i never actually saw them awake

maybe your hamster is like that?

why dont you check that its food and water are going down (to check if it is eating and drinking enough and that he does get out of bed!)

you could put a treat in his cage and see if he moves it , or if he has a wheel put it in a certain postition  and if it moves then you know he has been on it

    good luck xx
