Hammy question?!?

Question

Well i did not make it to Petsmart in time to get bedding and walmart was out so i cannot get any bedding....my mom has a paper shredder and she wanted me to come on my account and ask if i can use paper if i shred it...so the question is: "Can i use shredded paper for my hamster bedding until July the 9th? (today is the 7th)"

Please only answer if you know FOR SURE that it won't kill my hamster cause i don't wanna get a new hamster...i love mine to death!!

If you need to know the kind of hamster is have it is a Siberian Dwarf hamster and he is a Smokey-ish color with a Black stripe dow his back and he has White feet and he has a little white on his chest so if that helps any...there it is!!

well, i used news paper for like a month and i had 14 hamsters im sure that it wont hurt for 2 days.

To be safe I wouldn't use paper a towel would be fine for a few days or rip up toilet paper they love that rip some up for shavings and leave them some whole pieces for them to rip up them selves. Paper is to hard and can cut them, toilet paper is perfect! In fact if you go to Pet Smart and look their is a brand called Carefresh which is very much like toilet paper, only a lot better absorbency but its expensive stuff! I am glad you did not buy wood shavings from a wood work shop that is very smart of you as they usually carry parasites and mites. SO toilet paper is fine for two days :)

yes i know for sure that shredded paper will do for bedding. and that is the same kind of hamster i have.

Yes i know for sure u can use shredded paper as bedding as long as it's blank or has no ink on it.

I have tried that, and the paper shredder has a smell to it that could make the hammies sick...If you would like to use shredded paper, tear it by hand and use it.
