Hampshire plans to honour Shane Warne in a special event this year
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hampshire-c789’s chairman, Rod Bransgrove, has revealed that the English Cricket County Club plans to honour the legendary cricketer, Shane Warne, in a special event later this year.
Warne is currently leading the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL), but will retire at the end of this year’s event in order to focus on his personal life.
According to Bransgrove, “He (Warne) is the best spin bowler who made sacrifices to attain the stature. He had the personality to win matches through his charisma. I hope we will have the opportunity to remember his career in an event later this season.”
The Hampshire chairman praised the performance of Warne both as a player and a leader. He led the RR team to a title victory in the inaugural season of the lucrative league.
Bransgrove added that Warne’s franchise was not seen as one of the favourites to win the title and everyone expected the team to struggle. However, the former Australian spinner inspired http://www.senore.com/Cricket/A-Young-c41367 team to victory, surprising one and all in 2008.
Warne also captained Hampshire in the past and always led by example. He retired from international cricket in 2006 and decided to take part in the cash rich league after a gap of two years from competitive cricket.

RR will take on the mighty Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Monday, May 9, 2011 at their home ground in Jaipur.
The team has a very good record on their home soil and will look to take maximum advantage of that. Warne will look to lead his team from the front in the important game and guide his team to the top four in the pool.
