There was no play on day-one of the four-day game, as rain forced both teams to remain in their respective dressing rooms.
Once the play finally resumed on the second day, there was a lot of assistance for the bowlers off the pitch. This caused a lot of problems for the batsmen throughout the day, as 13 wickets fell until the close of play.

The Zimbabwean player managed just 14 runs in his struggling outing, leaving the hosts in a struggling position at 80/5.

The keeper batsman was unable to make most of the start he got to his innings and got out after contributing 24 runs to the total.
Hampshire were once again under pressure, but McKenzie and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Chris-Wood-c1254 collected 56 runs for the seventh wicket stand, guiding the team closer to 200. The latter was unable to carry onto the start to his innings and was dismissed after scoring 34 runs.
The lower-order failed to offer much resistance and the entire team was dismissed after scoring 213 runs. McKenzie remained unbeaten on 97 with the help of eight fours. He deserved a century, but ran out of partners at the other end.
Nottinghamshire’s http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Samit-Patel-c2426 captured four wickets in the innings.
