Hampshire will not select Pietersen for FP t20 semi-final

English cricket county Hampshire has said that Kevin Pietersen will not be a part of the squad for the finals day of the FP t20 tournament. Hampshire has qualified for the semi-final which will they will play against Essex on 14 August. The semi-final will be played in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hampshire-c789.

The issue arises out of the policy that Hampshire had adopted for the CB40 tournament when they hadn’t selected him for a game then. This had arisen out of Pietersen’s decision to not play for Hampshire from the next season, because of his issues with commuting from Chelsea. This means that he will be looking at playing for a new county from next season.

Pietersen’s form is an obvious issue as well, as he has struggled to get going with the bat. He did make an 80 in the first innings of second Test match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 at Birmingham, but he was dropped a couple of times, and inside-edged the ball on many occasions as well.

Hampshire’s contention has been that they do not wish to disturb a strong batting line-up in the middle order for a player who has decided to move on. They have Michael Lumb, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/James-Vince-c1657, who have all contributed to their successes in the one-day version of the game in county cricket and hence the decision.

However, the rest of the counties featuring in the FP t20 semi-finals will allow their international recruits back in their starting line-ups, including http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Essex-c783 will see the return of Alastair Cook, whereas the Notts will have the services of Stuart Broad and Graeme Swann in their playing eleven. Currently, Ravi Bopara and Michael Pettini open the innings for the Essex side, and despite the poor form of Cook, his international experience should help him make it to the side.

The two semi-finals will be followed by the final. http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sussex-c852 was the defending champions, but they were knocked out of the tournament in the quater-final.
