Hampster or Ferret as a Pet

Question

I really want a ferret, but they are really expensive, so I could have a hampster, but I'm afraid it won't be as fun. You can't really take it a bath or let it play in water, and they are so tiny and easy to get lost in my house. Ferrets are perfect for me, because they sleep like 20 hours a day, and that's good because I go to school, and take dance class. Should I get a hampster? And, are they anything other pets I could buy that are like a ferret?

I have 8 ferrets and had hamsters. And your right they are completely different. But it seems like a ferret really isn't right for you. Just because they sleep that long doesn't mean its all at once.

Rats seem to be a much better pet for you.

And a rabbit a second choice.

Ferrets are awesome pets! A hamster definitely isn't as good a pet as a ferret but they are lower maintenance and cute!

Something kinda near a ferret would be...a rat i think. Rats make good pets too! Maybe you should look into that!

I would highly suggest a holland lop rabbit. Before I get to that, you should NOT  get a ferret. They do in fact sleep a good percentage of the day, however they need lots of attention, they are VERY expensive, bathing, they smell BAD, you have to clean their cage 2-3 times a week, they need vet checkups and shots, & you should get two or they can become depressed and even die. You should not get a hamster either. They bite a lot, are anti social, only live 2-3 years, and are overall mean. Holland lop rabbits are sooo cute, they like to be held and petted, you can take them for a walk, they dont need to be bathed or groomed, they are relatively small (like 4 pounds), and they almost never bite (in 8 years of raising rabbits i have only had 3 bite me because they thought i had treats), and they can live alone or in same-s*x gruops of two.

ferrets you can play w/ longer than a hamster+if you lose a ferret you'll be-able to find it easily.w/ a hamster you can only play w/ it for a half hour.and it'd be harder to find if lost.other pets would be a rabbit or a turtle.

You could get rabbits they are fine on their own and enjoy company and they only cost about £25.

Get some RATS. They are waaaaaay better than a ferret or hamster.
