Hamsik expecting a stern test against Manchester City and looking forward to Champions League debut
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 midfielder, Marek Hamsik, is predicting a tough ride for his team in the UEFA Champions League clash against Manchester City.
Napoli will take on the blue half of Manchester on September 14, 2011 in their first Champions League game in 21 years. Hamsik believes that it will be a mouthwatering clash and is hoping that his team will prove to be a tough
opposition for City.
The Azzurri were drawn against Villarreal, City and Bayern Munich in the group stages of this year’s competitions and everyone is predicting a nail biting finish in this group. All teams are equally matched given their current
forms and City and Napoli are making appearances after a long drought.
The Slovakian international believes that it will be a big game for his team on their return to Europe because City are playing some of the best football right now. The Blues have collected maximum points from all of their four
outings in the Premier League so far and have been in great goal-scoring form.
The 24-year-old believes that picking up all three points in the game will be a great result for his team and is eagerly anticipating the clash.
Talking to his official website Hamsik said, “It [the game against City] will be a great deal for us as it will be our first game in the best competition in Europe. Winning against City would be fantastic, but we know it will be
difficult. We are playing against a team full of quality, but being able to play in the Champions League is a nice reward for all we did last season.”
Napoli have also had a fantastic start to their 2011/12 campaign and won their opening game 3-1 against Cesena on the road.
The former Brescia star believes that his team’s attack force is equally good as City’s and is expecting a game full of goals and action. Hamsik along with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ezequiel-Lavezzi-c13073 are expected to give the hosts a lot
of problems in the game.
