The Slovakian’s promising talent in the attack has caught the eye of many of the top clubs in Europe, but the aggressor maintains that he wants to stay at the Azzurri for long, and become an icon at San Paolo.
Hamsik stated that his aim is to remain a key player for the Partenopei by 2016, and become Del Piero for Napoli. He joked that just talking about his future is making him feel old.
The Napoli attacker went on to praise the Bianconeri veteran, stating that his career has been a phenomenal one. The former Brescia midfielder insisted that the Old Lady legend played at Juventus for two decades, and made history
for the club with so many triumphs.
The Azzurri aggressor insisted that he does not likes to heap praises on people unnecessarily, but stated that Del Piero is a true legend of the game, and despite his age is still very strong.
While talking to Corriere dello Sport, the 24-year-old said:
"I would very much like to become Napoli's Del Piero. It would be a source of pride for me to still be a key player of this team by 2016, even though it does make me feel old to look that far ahead. Del Piero is a phenomenon. He
has made history at Juventus over the past 19 years with loads of victories. I don't like the use of superlatives, but we are talking about a truly extraordinary player, who still is very strong."
