Hamsik will sign Napoli extension, confirms the agent: Serie A news
The agent of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 midfielder, Marek Hamsik, has admitted that his client will sign a new contract and is happy with life at the club.
Hamsik’s current deal at the Stadio San Paolo runs until the end of the 2014/15 season and the agent has confirmed that the club is interested in offering him a one year extension. The former Brescia star has attracted interest
from a host of European clubs and Napoli are ready to offer him a new improved contract to ward off their interest.
Agent, Juraj Venglos, revealed that Hamsik is extremely happy at the club and he wants to continue play here for long. The contract negotiations between the Slovakian and the club have been put on hold for a long time but Venglos
has revealed that he will put pen on paper very soon.
While talking to the reporters, Juraj Venglos said, “The possibility that Marek will continue his career in the Azzurri jersey is very real. The desire of my client is to carry on with his adventure at Napoli and he’ll soon put
pen to paper on a contract extension.”
The agent rejected talks of Hamsik leaving the Partenopei outfit and insisted that his client has full faith in the abilities of Napoli and he wants to achieve big things with them. The Azzurri qualified for the last 16 round of
the UEFA Champions League thanks to a second half strike from Hamsik in the 2-0 win over Villarreal in the last group stage game.
Venglos believes that Napoli can make it to the semi-finals of the competition but everything will depend on the opposition they get in the next round.
“Last night’s win was fantastic. I think that Napoli could fight for a semi-final spot in the Champions League; I do think that there is this possibility. Obviously a lot will depend on who Napoli get in the draw, but Marek believes
in the potential of this squad.”
The draw for the last 16 round will be announced next week and Napoli will be praying to avoid the Spanish giants, Real Madrid and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604.
