Question:

Hamster Cage Question.

I have a critter trail 2 cage. I was very disappointed about how everything on that cage would break so easily and how hard it is to clean it out. Well my mom is getting me a new cage. I'm getting a 10 gallon tank and a tank topper which has 2 upper levels. Would this be good for a hamster?

  1. NOOO those break VERY easily and there terrible. Just stick with the fishtank, seriosuly your hamster will escape if you use a tank topper.

  2. Thats The Best Cage For A Hamster

  3. if its a pup its ok but ITS WONDERFUL! the love levels!  btw do you only have one?? if you do SHAME on you get another PRONTO and not from a pet store you know how sick those things are? go to somebody around you who is selling/giving away hamsters. Why? b/c its scientifically PROVEN that rodents go mentally insane if alone. It might be too late..depending on where you got it..if you got it anywhere but a pet store try and get one of its brothers or sisters..otherwise they'll kill any-hampster else!!

    hope i helped

  4. Sure but i would still stick with the fisk tank

    hope i helping you.

    thx! :)

  5. It really depends on what hamster you have.

  6. tanks aren't good for hamsters. they don't provide good ventilation. which can cause respiratory problems. get a wire cage. they can come in multi levels and can be climbed. and they also provide very good ventilation.

  7. i hate cleaning out a fish tank, they are super annoying

  8. yes that is fine, but that is ment for a fish or a reptile, and it is mean to keep it in that when it could have tubes a wheel and other stuff.  you shouldn't make it go in a tank just to make it easier for you.  it requires work and responsibility to care for a hamster.

  9. A tank topper would be a wonderful addition to give the hamster extra space and air but I would recommend reading more reviews from people who have them.

If you do get the topper go to www.martinscages.com and see if you can't get some custom spacing to ensure it will not be to large for your hamster to squeeze through.

You should have at least 2 hamsters but I don't know how well yours would adjust to a new one being brought in but for next time you should get more then one (or get a couple rats....)

If the topper has wire flooring you might opt to cover it.
