my baby hamsters who are 18 days old, appear to have something in their fur that looks like dandruff, im sort of worried, just because they are so little and seem so helpless. is it something bad? or serious? or is it just normal for baby hamster? also, one of them is really really tiny about the size of a peanut, (with the shell) and the others are double his size, could he have a health problem? there are 12 babies.

  1. Put Chincilla SAND (not dust) in one corner of the cage close to their nest. They will roll in it and it will help keep them clean.

Your peanut sized ham is the runt of the litter. In litters over 6, expecially over 10, it's very hard for the mother to care for them all. She might not have gotten as much milk as the others.

At 18 days old, they should be trying solid foods now. Pit some tiny, skinless, bits of apple in there for the babies. Make sure you hand a few to the runt so your positive he gets some.

  2. I THINK it may  be dirt that got milk from the mother on it. You could take it to the vet and they'd clean the  hamster.
