  1. Cage $10.00 to $15.oo

    Food about 4.99

dishes and water bottle, but some cages come with those things

    Bedding $2.99

    Wheel

Toys for him to crawl and hide in.

I don't think you'll have enough money....and maybe your not quite ready...I have 4 that I love but they reqire everyday care

try a goldfish you can get the bowl,a fish, and food for about 12 bucks.

  2. Um, you sound not quite ready. Remember that a hamster will not only cost you the initial price. You also have to keep buying the food and bedding. Not to mention the fact that you MUST have some extra money in case it needs vet care. Don't be one of those irresponsible owners that don't take their animals to the vet. It's unpredictable, so you need to have something just in case.

I suggest you spend a bit more time doing extra chores or maybe working some odd jobs, if not a full/part time job. Have at least $40 extra after all of the supplies are purchased.

And you can't just buy whatever it will "buy you". It's the other way around. Hamsters have their needs, and you need to pay for everything they do need. So that means, cage, bedding (not cedar or pine), lab bloc food, wheel, at least two hiding places, and chew toys. Plus you need to find a hamster-savvy vet nearby.

  3. umm the cage alone will cost at the very lest 30 bucks and i don't think walmart will have every thing ur hamster. and even if the cage cost $20 the wheel (they wont have that at walmart) will cost $10 the food yearly maybe $10 and the bedding yearly is oh...  $100 if u get the good stuff. so i would say u will need more money then that. btw a hamster is totally worth every pennie

  4. If you get a 10 gallon aquarium is gonna cost about 10 bucks which is the cheapest way to go. If you get a lid its around $7 more, but I just made my own. I made it from metal wire I had, but u could probably make it out of plywood to but make alot of air holes. A water bottle is gonna cost about $5-7, also a feed dish $5-7, but I went to a 2nd hand store and found some small bowls at about 50 cents each.. DO NOT USE CEDAR CHIPS! It will cause health problems. Pine chips I really do not know I'm thinking around $5, but if you have a lawn and and mow it, grass chippings do well, also if u have a paper shredder and use paper with no color ink, that works well to, unscented toilet paper works to. Food is gonna cost anywhere from $2-7 at walmart but if u give the little guy vegis off ur plate that helps with the cost. An exercise wheel is gonna be about $4-8 depending on size. Chew sticks are a must have, to help ur hamsters teeth and thats around $2-3 but if u can find an apple tree and get a small branch from it works well to. Its really how much money u want to save and if these things are avaible in your area.  Some times on Ebay or other websites you can get pet start up kits that include all of these things. It's just a matter of shopping around.

  5. unfortunately probably not enough if you don't already have a cage, they're pretty expensive (at least compared to how much the hamster costs)

I would save up a bit more cause you're gonna need a food bowl, water bottle, food, toys, and bedding

I'm not sure how cheap wal-mart's hamster stuff is, but I'm still thinking it's gonna be more than you have
