  1. Hello.

From around the 7th day on, the mom will take solid food to the nest for the babies to eat, from here on the weaning process starts (she gradually reduces their milk, giving them more solid food) you should now start adding more solid food for the mother and babies. For good strong and healthy babies, start feeding a high protein, and high fibre diet, the mom should already be on this. Always make sure there is enough to go round, and as they grow and get bigger add more, depending on how many there is. Any spoilt fresh food can be removed at the end of the day. Don’t feed them any fruit, or green vegetables, milk or bread that is asking for trouble, the babies’ digestive system is very delicate at this stage, and whatever you give to the mom she will give to the babies.

Eggs are a very good source of protein and essential vitamins, boiled, or scrambled without the milk. Carrots, cucumber, hard cheese (grated,) wheat biscuits, cereals, etc: in addition to their dried hamster food. They should be fully weaned by 21 days.

  2. Nice and simple!

Once the babies are weaned- not drinking mum's milk- at about three/four weeks, you can just feed them normal hamster food; same stuff as you feed the mum.

You can feed them cucumber, brocoli, some cabbage, carrots. No need to cook it- they'll happily eat it raw. You can also offer these to the babies when they're weaned.

  3. Yup just feed them the same stuff u feed the adult hammie. But u may want to remove them from their mum when they are big enough. Don't worry it's not cruel or anything. For some reasons hammie are solitary animals, they like being alone, esp Syrian hammie.
