how do i teach my hamster to jump pls give details please cookie has good performing skills (cookie is my hamsters name)

  1. lol ^.^ usually hamsters aren't they ideal pet to teach tricks to

    but if you want it to jump

    try putting it on its house

    then waving a piece of lettuce or a carrot in front of it


  2. i don't know. you can teach her to stand by picking up her hands and giving her a treat when she does. say 'stand'. be patient and keep your tone the same. however, hamsters dont jump on their own will.

  3. Although it isn't natural for Hamsters to "perform" you can teach them some tricks including to stand and sometimes jump!

    To do this most people recommend getting your hammy to sit on a flat surface such as a plank of wood or an upturned shoe box. and hold your hamsters front paws up and taking a small treat (a chocolate drop, or lump of cheese) and lifting it just above its reach so that it is inclined to streach or jump to get what it wants.

    If it doesnt respond to this then you could try it again in a few days time, but dont force it into anything it doesnt want to do naturally as this could cause it distress and distrust towards you.
