  1. Well I have a Guinea Pig and they are great. I wouldn't wait because the sooner you get another pet, the sooner you get over you hamster dying. My Guinea Pig cost about $120 in all, that included the cage, food, treats, hay (a must have for Guinea Pigs), a water bottle, and a food bowl. They have to have at least 2 hours out of their cage a day.

Good luck and sorry about your loss!

  2. i would say wait because if you save up and get it then u might deep down still miss your hamster and u might confuse the names or compare your guinea pig to your hamster and make yourself miss your hamster even more

  3. well i would get the guinea pig cause guinea pigs are so much fun (i like them much better then hamters)

  4. I'm no expert but i also had an hamster n then went to guinea pigs. i did get them years apart, but i don't think that makes a difference if you are sure that ur ready to love ur guinea pigs. what u must consider is all the attention that your guinea pigs will need and if you get a female guinea pig you must also consider getting another female because these are very social animals. i myself got one guinea pig and two months later got another because my first one seemed very lonely and even depressed at times. i do think guinea pigs are wonderful pets to have but you must be informed on the care that they need. so my advice to you is to save your money while you do some research then go to look for your new pet. also when looking for a Guinea pig u wanna make sure that it is healthy. pets mart assures that ur pet is healthy when they sell it to you so that's where i would recommend at other pet stores the guinea pigs look unhealthy with sores or hair loss and you don't want to get one that's already gonna cost you a vet bill. (especially if its your second guinea pig because it could get the first on sick too)  sorry so long.....feel free to send me a message if u have more questions

p.s. we have a dog also but we keep her out of the room so if thats not an option then guinea pigs may not be a good choice
