Hamster developing huge lump in-between eyes and...?

His right eye is kind of messed up, kind of bleeding but not really, its not my hamster its my sisters, and I feel kinda sorry for it, the lump in between its eyes on its head makes it look real bad man, and just looking at it it pains me, but its still eating and whatnot, just not excersizing on its wheel.

I've taken the time to take it out of its cage and clean its eye, I even put some neosporin on it, and sis is feeding it this milk/honey tea said to help it with its supposed cold, but the most thing thats worrying is the huge lump on its head, its not that huge, but its growing, and I really have no clue as to what it is, its deforming the poor hamsters face, anyone give any helpful answers, would be much appreciated.

  1. It's probably an infection. Take him to the vet.

  2. thast unfortunate, google it, thats what i did when my brotherss fish lost its fins hahaha

  3. Could be an insect bite.  That is definately an infection.

I suggest you call the vet and ask questions.

  4. Did he fall down and hit his head badly? That could be the reason for the lump and the injury in the right eye. I think he requires a vet attention immediately since he has got multiple problems and professional help is what would help him get better faster.

If the bump is not related injury, the obvious guess would be a tumour or a cancer, so the faster you get it checked by a vet, the better for your hamster.

Until you take him to a vet, you can use the following home treatment for his injured eye - mix half a cup of sterile (boiled and cooled) water with a teaspoon of boric acid powder (available from a chemist or pharmacy) and use an eye dropper to bathe the eye twice or three times a day.
