Hamster dying!!!?

Question

help! my hamster is laying on his back, it looks like he has a hard time to breath...his eyes are also opened...i don't understand, he eats & drinks just fine, and there's no symptoms of wettail whatsoever...i'm soooo worried! please help!

Maybe your pet is going dying i hate to say it but it is usually happen if the symptoms just  like you saying. I am sorry...

Ok, please do not take him to the vet, as he/she can do nothing for your hamster. I'm sorry, but, your hamster...is probably...dying. Hamsters live 1-3 years, and some are quite old when they are bought, so it is probably dying of old age. Leave him in his cage, make sure he has food and water, and maybe a few treats. Check on him again tonight, maybe he will live. Same thing happened to me, only it died when I was holding it, which is one of the saddest things ever so don't hold him very much, okay? Maybe add a little bit of extra bedding to his sleeping spot, so that way it's very soft and warm. If he feels cold and a little squishy, then he's already given up. Do not stress him out by taking him to the vet, because the vet can do nothing and he may die in the car. I'm so sorry just pray that he'll live...maybe he will. I feel like I'm going to cry, seriously! :'( I have 9 hamsters...at least I used to. Now I only have 4...I know how you feel because both Flower(had to litters of cuties...both on accident) and Clover(who was born in April of last year) died in the same week! I'm so sorry for you, just keep your hopes up! Don't give up!

you should call the pet store were you got it tell them the symptoms see if they can help if not maybe they can recommend a vet that deals with animals like that

contact your vet amidiantly and take him there strait away give him fresh veggies his usual hammie food and fresh water and try clean the cage  reseach as much as you can on illneses but make sure you keep a eye on him but it is inportant he see's a vet as he should know what is wrong and he should be back to normal asap!!!!!!! good luck and hope your hammie is ok =)

don't pick him up just take him to the vet in the morning if he survives the night. very gently tap his chest with your thumb take him to the vet immediately in the morning  no matter what!!!!!

Perhaps you hammy tried to escape and fell and hurt his back.Keep him quiet ,place him gently uprightin his cage,and have a vet look at him.If you can't afford a vet; again,keep him quiet and upright,and put his favorite food near him, with a dish of water and hope for the best.He may not recover in either case.If he is old (over 2 years) it may just be his time to go.
