Hamster eyes?

I just bought a hamster and one of its eyes is black and the other one is red. Is this normal or is there something wrong with it?

  1. its means he cant see very well out of one eye. so be careful picking it up, it wont see you so it will be scared. it is completely normal. just like albino hamsters, it cant see well out of its red eye. hope i helped!


  2. This is called an odd eye. The red just like an albino has no pigment to it. Hence it being pink. This is totally normal although its vision in that one eye is worse than the other. Any animal like that I would talk to before you pick them up so you dont startle them.

    Hamsters are short sighted in general but the pink eye will mean its almost totally blind in that eye. All that means is you have to be careful when you approuch it from that side because it will be more easily startled.

    But no, it is normal.
