Hamster has escaped ?

Question

My sister's new hamster has escaped and has been gone for at least a week. We put up the bucket traps and have put the cage out with treats. we haven't even heard her at night! how do we find her? THX

try to put a little bit of peanut butter in the cage, hamsters sometimes like peanut butter and some slices of baby carrots, my haster hasnt escaped but my hamster loves these treats a lot.

The other option is to create your own home-made trap. Get a tall bucket and a few books. Place a few inches of bedding at the bottom of the bucket, and then put something tasty and smelly on top – some apple pieces, hamster seed, and some peanut butter will do nicely. Arrange the books into a set of stairs leading up to the top of the bucket then leave the room and turn the lights off. During the night your hamster will come out in search of food, and will pick up the scent of the food you left in the bucket. He’ll climb up the books and peak over the top of the bucket. He won’t notice the sudden drop off (hamster vision is not very good at all), and will continue towards the food, falling into the bucket. You will hopefully find him the next morning, snoozing in the soft bedding with some peanut butter smeared on his face!

Hamsters can be regular little escape artists, but don't fret. The first thing you should do is close all the doors, and get any other animals such as cats or dogs out of the house if possible. Put piles of your hamsters usual food mix in the corner of each room. Observe which pile of food gets eaten to determine which room your hamster is in. Once you know which room he is in, you can trap him. Take a bucket and put some bedding and some strong smelling food (such as cheese) inside. Then, using books, build steps up to the top of the bucket. The hamster should clamber up to the top, smell the delicious food and fall in, but not be able to get out!

Or also u can stay awake until 3 am dat how i got my hamster if none of this work den u hamster is already dead

when hamster's escape they usually hide in the kitchen or in the bathroom so look there.

If you can't find her in either of these shut all the doors and make sure she can't fit under the bottom of the doors then move the bucket traps from room to room and hopefully you will find her.

However if its a new hamster she could have died with lack of food and water.

If you lost her out side, she's dead

If you lost her inside and have another uncaged animal (cat/dog) she's dead

If you lost her inside and don't have anyother animals, check under your kitchen sink

Hey this is what i did for mine. Put Peanut Butter around the house on a paper plate with there food on top. They will smell it and go to it and then when they are on the peanut butter they will  get stuck to it and check the plates regulary.

Leave some swiss cheese by his cage.  He might go for that.  My hamster did.  Put a water bowl out for him and his food out for him too.  Good luck and I hope you find him.

i completly understand it used 2 happen to me alll of that time!! all u do iz put a cup with food and some water and also his fav treat and some water then after a while he/her will come in the cup and will be finally found!!!

umm, sorry but if it's been more than like 4-5 days the hamster is dead. :'( I am so sorry
