  1. no thats boring get the big hamster and as to your cage advice try the crittertrail two.theres 3 levels its amazing

  2. Get a plastic cage for a hamster, don't get lazy cleaning it every week! Your hamster can't have fun in a framed cage!! Get tubes and interesting stuff :] Search online for healthy hamster-keeping tips. Don't be a bad pet-owner. They have lives.

  3. aww panda hamsters are really cute. given that the cage is made for guinea pigs, which are much bigger than hamsters, the cage should be fine. make sure you choose your wheel before and check that it fits properly inside. and when you buy your wheel, pick one that doesn't squeak when installed. i once had one that squeaked and it was so noisy at night.. i tried so many things to make it stop squeaking but nothing worked. i had to give him away anyway, since my mom made me decide between having a dog or a hamster =\.

by the way, i got a penthouse for my hamster, it's like a tube coming out veritcally from the top of the cage then there's a little rectacular space for the hamster to sleep in and he LOVED it. the rectangular space was just small enough so that he can fit (which sounds like h**l to me) but he went there ALL the time to sleep in.

  4. i think that would be a good starter cage except it might be a little small. and make sure the tubes would be big enough so he wouldnt get stuck

    !!!

  5. That should be fine. As long as you can fit the exercise wheel, the food dishes, and the water bottle, plus have room for the hammy to move around, than you're good.

I had a panda hamster too. They are the cutest!

I kept her in a Critter Trail 3, but it was a pain to clean.

    Good luck!

  6. Be careful when get a hamster cage that isn't made for hamsters! A hamster can fit through any opening he can get his head through, and those bars look a little wide.  If you could find a cage like that with smaller spaces between the bars that would be great! Hamsters love climbing up the sides of wire cages ^_^

*I wouldn't recommend the critter trail cages with all the tubes. Syrian hamsters (Teddy bear, Panda) get quite large and it is a tight squeeze through. I know, my Hammie got stuck in one of those tubes(How embarrassing!)

Best of Luck for you and your hammie!

  7. the hamster would live just fine in there with a wheel, food and water of course. but i don't see how that cage is tube friendly.

its not very big and if you just put tubes in there that will take up living space. and if the tubes don't go anywhere the hamster will slowly stop using them. buy a crittertrail or habitrail cage.

something like these they have expansion ports to add tubes for endless expansion.

when syrian hamsters get larger it can be hard for them to move through crittertrail tubes, i suggest habitrail tubes for anything you do.

  8. Your hamster would love living in there but maybe buy a bigger and better one in the future.

    Good Luck..
