Well about a month ago my hamster had babies...and well ive heard that when shes about 2 give birth to the babies she has to kick the other babies out or kill them (which is what happened last time).

And well the 9 babies are going 2 b 3 weeks old on tuesday which is the age that they can be given away.

The problem is that the mother already gave birth 2 more babies yet she didnt kill or hurt the other 9.

What do I do?

Do i take the older ones out or what?

Because i still saw them drinking milk 4rm the mother yesterday

Any advice will be appreciated =]

  1. yes because the big ones could kill the little ones

and the little ones may not be able to have the milk they need

better to be safe than sorry

    good luck

  2. With respect, you don't seem to know what you are doing with regards to hamsters, so why do you keep allowing them to breed?

Breeding is something best left to experts and breeders.  If you want to become a breeder you should read several books on the subject for advice BEFORE breeding them.  That way you will know what you are doing.

    Failing that, ask a vet.

  3. seperate them cause the older 1s will kill the babies. if you want put the mother in with the first group for a while then with the other group for a while.  the older ones might be ready to give away the pet store should have food for the older ones start with that first.

  4. who ever bred them is the kind of idiot i try to stop on here all day. but yes you must take the babies out of the cage. you said you saw them drink milk from moma. thats fine as long as they are eating solid food also. put them in a different cage. and if you can two different cages. males in one and females in the other or else you will have even more babies awful soon.

  5. seperate them. about 3 times a day put the mama in with the older babies so she can spend time with the little babies 2

  6. why dont u call and ask a vet they might be able to give u good adivce
