Hamster loseing her hair?

my hamster is a few yrs old and she started loseing her hair the other day. i took her to the vet and he could not find anything wrong with her, told me she is just old. should i try another vet, what could be wrong with her?

  1. Hamsters lose their fur due to old age so if your vet has checked and found nothing else wrong with her, you need not take her to another vet. The vet is correct in saying that she is losing fur due to old age.

    General fur loss due to old age or moulting (with no other symptoms) can be helped by crushing a yeast tablet on the hamster's food every other day, lessening the amount once fur has started to regrow. (Yeast tablets can usually be found at a chemist or pharmacy amongst the human vitamin tablets). If yeast tablets are unavailable, vitamin drops (available from pet stores) added to the water will aid fur re-growth.


  2. hey this happened to my hamster before to! ok well i didn't take her to the vet but i changed the new bedding i was using and her fur started to grow back, so i think she was allegoric to it...

  3. seriously its just her age. she's old and when they get old they lose their hair...like old people.
