Hamster making noises sounds like sutty and sweep of know what i mean does anyone know why?

I've never known a hamster make noises unless it is frightened or hurting.

I'm not an expert, but I would google this if I were you.

Is it pregnant? Has it been dropped? I think you might be looking at a visit to a vet, or a sad tragedy I'm afraid.

I hope I am wrong and that you simply have a vocal hamster.

Hamsters are among the quietest creatures there are - usually the only sound you'll here from them is the squeaking of their wheels. Hamsters do vocalize from time to time. They squeak - this is a mating call. They scream - when they are in distress. They cough/sneeze - when they are sick.

By Sutty do you mean Sooty?  Sooty was silent!

Sweep, on the other hand, used to make an alarming squeaking sound all the time.  That sound coming from a little hamster would be a scream which is what they do when they are extremely distressed.  Do his mannerisms suggest that he is distressed in any way (i.e. darting around his cage, hiding and even shaking)?

Maybe you're exaggerating a bit and he's just making little squeaky sounds.  If so, my last hamster used to do this a lot as she got older.  There didn't seem to be anything wrong with her (illnesses in hamsters develop very quickly and nothing ever seemed to come of this noise she made and it went on for months, right until she died (which wasn't anything to do with the noise by the way)) and she wasn't exhibiting any other symptoms so I just assumed that she had gotten more chatty in her old age.

If your hamser is doing any other unusual things besides this noise and you suspect there is something wrong then take him/her to the vet to be checked out ASAP.

Maybe it has got a cold. My hamster, which is 2 1/2 years old, does it to get my attention! She always has done.

Your hamster is probably fine, it isn't something serious.

If you are still concerened, you could take her to the vet to get her checked out. I took my hamster to the vets with the same problem, and nothing was wrong.
