  1. No, there is nothing to worry about. My hamster died at 3 years and he was rather fat too, but make sure your guy gets enough exercise.

  2. If it is fast at 2 yrs you should do something like more exersize and a hamster diet (less treats more good food) and put him in a exersize ball for as long as he will run in it for, NEVER fill the food bowl up and then re-fill when empty thats how hamsters become fat, if you give it about 1/3 of its food dish each day (depending on sizes) it should be fine and you can even add a carrot or something or buy diet food and give him a proper amount here is a linkl to some hamster diet food:http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.js... , if he is still fat i would take him to a vet because obese hamsters die quicker than most

  3. It's always good to have your hamsters checked up on by a vet. It's not good for hamsters to be too fat because that causes problems later in life, and since your hamster's already 2 years old, it might be better to keep him healthier. My vet told me the best hamster food is pellets, and then seeds and fresh foods maybe 1-3 times a week. Keep him moving around like everybody said. If he doesn't use his wheel try letting him run around on the floor or get him a ball. If you're still worried take him to the vet, that will give you some peace of mind. It doesn't cost too much to get them checked out and it's good to establish a relationship with your vet in case something goes wrong. Here's a good website to use: www.hamsterific.com It helped me when I had questions. Good luck with him!

  4. Being as old as he is, he probably doesn't care so much for activity but you should perhaps see if you can't keep him a bit more active. Let him out on your bed to move around, no matter how slowly, and cut back on the fatty treats such as sunflower seeds(if he's got constant access to them.)

It's not uncommon for them to begin putting on a bit of weight before the season's change, however, and that could also be the case. Whatever the cause, being overly heavy will cut his life expectancy and seeings as how you've kept him alive thus long, you should be able to do a bit more to keep him alive for even longer.

    Good luck with him. :3
