  1. How old was she when you got her? Old age might be taking it's toll if she's over 1 1/2 years old

  2. Take her to the vet

She might be sickk,, and not eating

Try to feed her oatmeal and carrots

Or maybe,, she is just getting old....

    Good luck :]

  3. I would take her to the vet and see what they say.

  4. Upon reaching 12 months old she is middle aged, and from here will start to grow old.

As she does, noticeable changes will be seen, usually from the age of about 15 months old. She may begin to slow down, sleep more, eat less, become less active; As your hamster advances into old age, it will be noted that more and more of the hard food mix will be left where it is, and not taken to the store anymore. Introduction of softer foods will be more appreciated by your hamster at this stage. Introduction of boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, carrots, cheese, cucumber, will be her first choice of the food dish. Hamsters can suffer heart problems in old age; this can lead to lack of energy. Many old age diseases occur in hamsters over the age of one year, most geriatric diseases are not curable, and are just a part of the aging process. Liver and kidney problems are not uncommon, in middle aged, to hamsters in old age. Kidney failure could account for the dramatic weight loss. If you are really concerned about her, then have a word with you vet, but as she is so old, I doubt very much there will be a lot he can do, and will probably tell you to take her home an keep her comfortable, if she is not in any pain. 18 months is about the average life span for a hamster, and from what you say I think she has about got to the end of it.

  5. I would take her/him to the vet but I dont know about you but vets around here will not even look at small animals like hamsters. Maybe try buying a different brand of food or if you changed their food recently give them the old food. My hamster was very sick with "Wet Tail" which is a disease that they can get from being moved to a new enviroment or cage. Symptons are:

1.watery diarreha and, consequently moisture around the hamsters tail

    2.loss of appetite

    3.dehydration

    4.unkempt hair

    5.rectal bleeding

    6.iritability

I imediatley moved my hamster back to its old cage and he got better luckily I knew earlier due to the Hamster Guide I am reading.Hope I Helped
