My hamster is a syrian (panda if you need to know). And I just got her an 11" wodent wheel and she went on it for the first time and she went really slow and stopped often. She is 5-6 months old I think, and I know she'll grow, so will she grow into it, get used to it, or should I return it (i lose 16$ THAT WAY. Thanks

  1. It won't hurt her, she will be fine with it, it might be a bit hard for her to run on it, but she will grow to fit it. And your smart for getting a Wodent wheel. Its the best kind of wheel out there, and the only ASPCA approved wheel :D

  2. Unfortunatly, I think you should lose 16$. Your hamster will use it, because it's a wheel and exercise, but I'd reccomend like a 6 or 8" if available, I had a dwarf with a 6 and she did fine, so like 11 would be OKAY, but a size smaller would be better for the hamster I think.

  3. i think the only problem would be if the wheel would be too small and it's back was being arched but if it's bigger than it would be fine.

  4. Sorry but the wheel is a little too big. Go for a smaller wheel no bigger than 8 inches. Also try to get a plastic one with no bars or wire because they can cause your rodent to get its tail, foot, or neck caught and get it sprained (even killing it)

Sorry, but good luck with a new wheel =)

  5. You could try something a little smaller.  Eight or ten inch might be good especially if she has trouble running on it.  The plastic ones are easy for them to use but they might chew on them.  Mesh ones are okay as long as her feet don't fall into it.

Don't get a wheel that is too small since that could hurt your hamsters back.
