I have a hamster who probably has wet tail. And i also have another hamster about 30 ft away she is just a baby. I put both the baby and old hamster on wet tail medication to try to cure the old hamster and prevent it in the baby hamster <not mother and daughter>. Does the baby hamster still have a chance of gettin g wet tail?

 1. yes they have a high chance of getting it too you should separate them immediately! you should still give both the meds in case they catch it.

 2. i COMPLETLY agree with what Sarah and Kichi say although i also had a hamster who died from wet tail and you should really take him/her to a small animal vetrinarian but do NOT take him/her to any petco location and ask if they can do anything because they will say they can and then your hamster will die an hour after the people at petco recive your hamster then they will neglect to call you and tell you about it and you will be waiting for your hamster to come home until you finaly get the call WEEKS after you dropped your hamster off and they will tell you that they did everything that they could when that is a complete LIE!!!!!!! ..... im sorry but i have had a bad expirience with petco as a child with a hamster. so do your pet a favor and take her to a small animal vet!

 3. I don't think that your baby hamster has much of a chance of getting wet tail, as long as they are in different cages. It's good that you are using medication on both though, just in case. I don't want to worry you, but I do want to inform you. I had a hamster that died of wet tail, shortly after we got him. We used lots of medicines in both his water bottle and his food and treats. Be sure to monitor your hamster very carefully and be gentle with it while it's sick. Clean it's cage often and refresh it's food and water every day. You don't want it to get sick again while it's trying to heal. I hope everything turns out just fine. Good luck!

 4. yes all hamsters do.. just make sure you keep them FAR away
