Hamsters should i get one?

ok so ive been wanting a hamster but my past hamsters die ( my sister kills them not on purpose) and this time i wanna pet it and interact with it but i dont want it to bite me can i have some advice please ad some names

I don't see why not, but it would be better to get a gerbil for interacting, since they live longer.

yeah .. you should get one cuz they're all fuzzy and cute (: lol .. and my friend has a hampster and she named hers cocoa and her other one rocko (: (i like cocoa better .. if its brown or something)

i didnt have a hamster but i did have a guinea pig which are a lot alike.

usually if they nibble you they are hungry, but if u feed them and their hungry they mite just want to nibble...and if you dont want them to nibble you give them something else to nibble on.

i had one named peaches.  that was about 20 years ago.  mine was the mom and my sister's was the daughter.  they got in a fight and the daughter bit the mom's head off.  it was God awful and just so so terrible.  I don't think you can put 2 of the same s*x in the same cage so BE CAREFUL of that.  make sure though.  they're such cute creatures.  you need to clean the cage often.

You have to get over the fact that they will die.  They are cute but they smell and they will bite.  It doesnt hurt too bad when they bite but if your scared you shouldnt get one.  Thats like having a kid just because they are cute. Okay you get the hamster then what?  You are scared to hold it and your sister will kill it. Find another pet for yourself.

Buy a hamster, keep it away from your sister, my hamster that died was named Fluffy, and the one I have now is named Teddy, use cute names. I would suggest to start by holding it while wearing gloves(so it doesn't bite you) and once it gets used to you, hold him with your hands and pet him often. Wash your hands before interacting with it, because if they smell like food, the hamster will want to nibble it, interact with it daily(if possible) and make sure that it gets your scent, it will make a huge difference in your life.

i would actually suggest getting a rabbit instead of a hamster, they live longer, you can litter box train them, they arent as fragile, overall i think they just make better pets. and heres some names

Different hamsters behave differently, and they are trainable, though it is difficult, but chances are if you are afraid of it you are going to have a hard time training it.

brianna im not too old, but i think it would be nice to get another hamster. i know, it is hard getting through a lost pet. but i know what it feels like to also have an animal. there's a great relationship between you and a pet.there's no feeling like it. i have a cat.and i know if i lost him i would get through it and get another so i say go for it!! : )
