  1. They are growing up into her brain, I know it sounds weird. Your hamster probably chewed on the bars of her cage, while you didn't have wooden chewing blocks. They broke, became misaligned and are now growing up into the brain. There isn't anything you can do I don't think. Go to the vet though.

    Good Luck!

  2. well if they are already over grown you must take it to the vet.

if not get it tons of chew blocks from a pet store and give it carrots

  3. A vet might be able to trim the teeth down but it will probably be pretty traumatic for the little critter.

In the future make sure to provide chewing blocks and keep an eye on the growth of the teeth it takes a while and can be prevented.

  4. GO TO A VET.

End of story. If you "can't" than you cannot have the pet. If the teeth have grown long enough that they are beginning to puncture the tissue, than it is wayyy too late for chewing on things. What were you doing before they got so bad? At this point a vet is the ONLY thing that can do anything for the hamster.

Healthy hamsters have their teeth aligned in such a way that chewing anything trims them. Poorly bred hamsters from pet stores sometimes have a deformation which disaligns the jaws, so even with regualr chewing, the hamster will not be grinding the teeth at it should. This means that from now on, the hamster depends on REGULAR teeth trimming by a vet.

So either go to the vet, or drop it off at an animal shelter, and reconsider having any more pets until you can provide proper medical attention. And do something fast before it dehydrates and starves.

  5. They need to have access to shew toys at ALL times. Without their teeth worn down, they won't be able to eat at die of starvation. Get some sort of wood block, quick!

  6. I'm very sorry, but bringing your hamster to the vet is the only safe, guaranteed, and healthy solution.
