Hamsters? temp is too hot

Question

okay so i have a pet hamster. and my apartment gets reeeeeally hot. too hott for my pet hamster lol =[ and so i was jw is there anything i could do so he wouldnt get overheated, or w/e. i cnt run an air conditioner all day so i was wondering if a fan would work?

I saw something about a chinchilla chiller or something once... it's a stone that helps chinchillas stay cool, and you put it in the fridge, then in the cage, don't know if it would help, but here's the link:

not sure if a fan would be good coz there not really alowed a direct breeze it will give a cold try a vent like so that not so much f a breeze comes through to him not really sure

i would put a fan in the house, but not next to the hamster's cage  because it would blow the bedding around.  And always change it's water and make sure it's cold.  And if ur flooring is anything besides carpet i would put it on the ground because it's not as warm.  Or u can wrap a cloth or something ur hamster won't chew on, on an ice pack and put it in it's cage.  Don't use the cheap ones.  Get ones with thick plastic cause u don't want it leaking, especially if u have a wet tail hamster.

You can put a frozen water bottle under a towel in her cage to keep it cool you can also put a little fan on her. Or you could also put wet towels over her cage! Good luck and make sure to try all the ideas and see which one works the best so your hammy doesn't over heat

if you have one of those nesting boxes that hooks to the outside of the cage you could put a cold pack on the top of it then if your hammy gets hot it can lay in its cold room.  Or you can put a coffee cup or glass jar in the freezer and put it in their cage and they can sleep in there.

Aww poor hammy.. put a fan on his cage, air conditioning would be good though. or open alot of windows.. also keep out of the direct sun!!

Good luck, if you think it is too much for him, have the heart to give him the the rspca, or to someone who has a cooler place.
